Dictate notes on a clip

You can dictate your feedback on every clip. The text appears while you speak. 1. Open an analysis in SmartCoach and pick a clip. 2. Click Record next to the note. The first time, allow your browser to use your microphone. 3. Say what you see. Name each part and give your opinion, for example: "first touch great, position at loss of possession too far away". 4. Click Stop. The text is in the note and saved. 5. Edit the text if something is off. Anything you already typed stays. Who can hear my recording? Only you can play back your recording with Listen to your recording. Players only see the text. Dictating does not work Do you see a message that your browser has no access to your microphone? Allow the microphone in your browser settings and try again. Typing always works.

Create a panel with the Panel Builder

With your own panel you analyse exactly the situations that fit your football vision. A panel consists of categories that hold situations. 1. In SmartCoach, click Panels in the menu. 2. Click New panel, give it a name and click Create. 3. Click Add Category. Give the category a name and a colour, for example "Attacking". 4. In the category, click Add Situation, for example "Build-up". 5. Under What do you analyse in this situation, choose the parts you want to use. 6. Set the Clip length. 7. Give the situation a Shortcut if you like. Your panel saves automatically. Parts of a situation - Sub-situation: distinguish within a situation, for example left, central or right. - Result: what the action produced. Order the results from best to worst. - Choice: which other situation the player could have chosen. - Execution: details you assess, for example body position. - Players: choose which players were involved while you analyse. Type an option and press Enter to add it. With no parts switched on, you only capture the moment. Clip length With a fixed clip length, the clip covers the seconds Before and After your click. Use this for short moments, such as a shot. Switch on Flexible clip length for situations without a fixed length, such as a build-up. You then click at the start and again at the end. Before and After are added as extra context. Shortcuts A shortcut is a number or letter that picks a situation while you analyse, without clicking. Each key works once per panel. Keys that control the video cannot be used. Analysis flow At the top of the Panel Builder, choose under Analysis flow what happens when you pick a situation: - Analyse straight away: the video pauses and you answer the questions right away. - Tag first, analyse later: the video keeps playing and you answer the questions afterwards. Lay-out On the Lay-out tab you drag situations and make buttons bigger or smaller. Your panel then looks the way you want.

Create an analysis in SmartCoach

An analysis is linked to a match and a panel. If you work with players in Smart11, you also choose who the analysis is about. 1. In SmartCoach, click Analyses and then New analysis. 2. Choose Existing Match and select the match. 3. Choose what kind of analysis you are making: Individual analysis or Other analysis. 4. For an individual analysis, choose the player. 5. Choose the panel you want to use. 6. Click Create analysis. You go straight to the analysis environment. You can also start from the page of a match, with New analysis. Individual analysis An analysis about one player. You choose from the players of the match's team and players the match was shared with. If the player has panels in Smart11, you choose from those panels. Your clips then match what the player analyses. Once shared, the player sees the clips as actions in Smart11. Other analysis An analysis about the team, a line or anything else. You choose from all your panels. Once shared, the team sees the clips as match filters. No choice of type? No players in Smart11, or do you only use SmartCoach? Then you skip this question and choose a panel straight away. No match or panel yet Choose New Match to upload a video first. No panel yet? Click Create new panel.

Share an analysis with your player or team

Players only see your analysis once you share it. You share from the overview page of the analysis. 1. In SmartCoach, open Analyses and choose the analysis. 2. Click Share. 3. For an individual analysis, click Share with and the player's name. For an other analysis, click Share with and the team's name. 4. Want to share with someone else? Search the player, team or coach and click Share. At the bottom of the window you see who you already shared the analysis with. Who receives what? - Individual analysis: the player gets the clips as actions in Smart11, with a push notification. - Other analysis: the team gets the clips as match filters. Players then find the moments in the match straight away. - Coaches: a coach can view or edit the analysis. You choose this under Access. With or without reviews When you share clips with a player, With reviews is on. The player then sees your review. Switch it off if you want the player to form their own opinion first. Share part of the clips First select the clips in the list on the overview page. Then click Share. Changed the analysis after sharing? Added clips after sharing with a team? Click Update next to that team. The match filters then get your current clips. For a player, click the button with the number of new clips, for example Send 3 new clips. Clips they already have are not added twice. Share not visible? Do you only use SmartCoach, without a team or club in Smart11? Then there is nobody to share with and you do not see Share.

Create clips in the analysis environment

In the analysis environment you create clips while you watch the match. The video is at the top, your panel below it and your clips on the left. 1. Open the analysis. You land there straight after creating it. Later, open it via Analyses and Analyse. 2. Start the video with the space bar. 3. See a situation you want to analyse? Click its button in your panel, or press its shortcut. 4. The clip appears in the left column. 5. Click the clip to open it and answer the questions of your panel. 6. Click Save. Whether the video pauses after a click is set in the Analysis flow of your panel. Fixed and flexible clips With a fixed clip length, the clip covers the seconds before and after your click. With a flexible clip length, your click starts the situation. Click again when it is over. You set this per situation in your panel. Review a clip In an open clip you rate the action with Good, Partly good, Not good or Unclear. Use Modify action start- and end times to make the clip shorter or longer. Type your feedback under Notes or dictate it. Hide situations Not using every situation of your panel? Click the pencil above your panel and pick the situations you want to see. The rest stays hidden in this analysis. Upload it on the match page under XML files. - An analysis a coach shares with the team as match filters. - Clairence finds the key moments automatically. Clairence has its own button on the video for this. Buttons on the timeline - Funnel: makes the video play only the moments of your filters. Switch it off to look just outside a moment. - Or: show all moments that match at least one filter. - And: show only moments that match all selected filters. - Expand or collapse filters: make the timeline smaller. - Magnifiers: zoom the timeline in or out. - Create clips from the moments: create a clip of every moment in one go. Choose the situation from your panel the clips go under. More context around a moment In Settings in the left column you set how many seconds you see before and after each filter moment.

Draw on a clip with the drawing tool

The drawing tool shows what you mean: a run, a free space or a player's position. The video pauses at the moment of your drawing. The drawing tool works in SmartCoach for coaches and in Smart11 for players. You draw on your own clips and actions. 1. Open a clip. In Smart11, open one of your actions. 2. Below the video, click the drawing icon, Annotate this action. 3. Pause the video at the moment you want to explain. 4. Click Add annotation. 5. Draw with the tools in the toolbar. 6. Under Annotation duration, choose how long the video stays paused. 7. Click Save. Repeat this for every moment you want to explain. 8. Click Save and exit. Two annotations need at least half a second between them. The tools - Arrows: runs and passes, straight or curved. - Highlight players: put a player in the spotlight, with a name or label. - Circle: stress a space or a gap in the shape. - Polygon: draw a zone or an area. - Text: put an instruction on screen. - Freehand drawing: sketch a movement or shape. - Undo: take back the last step. Use the Selection tool to change a drawn object. You then pick the colour, line width and opacity, among other things. The exact moment With Adjust frame you move an annotation one frame forward or back. Switch on Preview mode to watch the clip the way your player sees it. Download with drawings When you download your clips, switch on Include annotations. Your drawings are then in the video. Tips - Stick to fixed colours, for example green for a good choice and red for what can be better. - Combine an arrow, a highlighted player and a short text. - Use several moments per clip to explain a situation step by step.
